The raw materials of the micro switch are mainly plastic and metal.

Metal acts as a switch contact, which determines the life and spirituality of the switch. Generally, low-impedance materials such as brass, copper, silver, alloys, and gold are used. Contacts can include universal type, separate type, gap-maintaining and adjustable-gap type.

As for the switch housing, PBT is favored by most manufacturers due to its good fire resistance and crystallization rate. For cost reasons, some manufacturers use phenolic plastic, PVC or PA46/66. Although these materials can be purchased locally, many manufacturers still choose to purchase from Japan and the United States due to product quality considerations.

PBT: Polybutylene terephthalate, English name polybutylene terephthalate (referred to as PBT), belongs to the polyester series, is composed of 1.4-pbt butylene glycol (1.4-Butylene glycol) and terephthalic acid (PTA) or A milky white translucent to opaque, crystalline thermoplastic polyester resin made by polycondensation of phthalate (DMT) and through a mixing process. Together with PET, they are collectively referred to as thermoplastic polyester, or saturated polyester.

PVC: It is a vinyl polymer material, and its material is a non-crystalline material.

In actual use, PVC materials often add stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, pigments, impact resistance agents and other additives. It has non-flammability, high strength, weather resistance and excellent geometric stability. PVC has strong resistance to oxidants, reducing agents and strong acids. However, it can be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid and is not suitable for contact with aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
