HOW TO JUDGE THE QUALITY OF ROCKER SWITCH?
The rocker switch is similar to the shape of a boat, but the buttons on it are still the same as the rocker switch. Press the open side and the closed side will tilt up. When purchasing a rocker switch, you must measure its quality to avoid pitfalls. Today I would like to share with you how to judge the quality of rocker switches from the following three aspects?
1.Terminal material.
It is usually made of brass or phosphor copper (low-grade is iron). In order to reduce the contact resistance of the rocker switch, the pins are basically silver-plated. This allows the silver to undergo oxidation when it encounters SO2 gas in the air, which directly affects the solderability and safety of the switch.
Contact resistance, so high-quality ship-shaped switches must have good control over the pin material, silver plating thickness and silver plating process. Currently, the order of silver plating quality on the market is as follows: The pin silver plating thickness of the rocker switch: 0.3um or more (thick silver), 0.2um (thin silver), 0.1um (white plating). Silver plating process: material is pre-plated with nickel and then silver-plated, material is pre-plated with copper and then silver-plated. The material is directly plated with silver. It is very important whether the material is treated with a protective agent after silver plating or whether the switch is dustproof and waterproof. Otherwise, even with the best silver plating, the switch terminal will gradually be oxidized.

2.Manufacturing process
After having accessories, what will affect the quality is the assembly process. The assembly process depends on the manufacturer's advanced equipment, employees' quality awareness and factory quality inspection and other factors. A different rigorous attitude towards quality can produce high-quality products that meet specifications. The current assembly methods in the industry include manual and machine. Because the current automation technology is still in progress, each has its own pros and cons.
3.Inspection.
The methods and items of factory inspection affect the final quality of the rocker switch, such as whether the appearance, feel, continuity, resistance and other items are subject to random inspection or full inspection. For example, the scrap rate required by some large manufacturers is measured by PPM or zero defects. It is necessary to set up random inspection or quality inspection and other processes after setting up full inspection in factory inspection.
